‘SPLITTING THE G’
This project developed in response to a group exhibition I helped organise. MAYBE (3) PUB? is the third instalment of the MAYBE exhibition series, held at the New Glasgow Society in Glasgow. The theme for this exhibition was ‘PUB’.
At the time, I was working at Risotto, a Risograph print studio, and wanted to take full advantage of my access to the Riso. I was particularly interested in experimenting with a gold ink I hadn’t used before, and incorporated it into the project by applying it to the Guinness logo.
I also had a large archive of unused photographs on my phone from my VIEWFINDER project, which I was keen to revisit. Drawing from this material, I created a series of photomontages depicting everyday activities and objects, recontextualised through the lens of the exhibition’s pub theme.
