Total Recall
‘Then I Met You, On The Pitch’ originated and expanded on from a project set earlier in the year, ‘Total Recall’. This short documentary explores a football team created by a Year 4 Sculpture and Environmental student at GSA, with the goal to spotlight the enduring sense of community within football. Given football’s often negative stigma, especially in Glasgow, I aimed to highlight the positive impact of team sport in creating a community.
Building around the framework of recalling a memory, I utilised a stop-motion technique, ‘cut-out animation’, to enhance the storytelling elements of the documentary. The visual quality they create points to the instability inherent in the team's recollections of shared experiences.
