Portraiture & Self-Portraiture
This project I experimented with both portraiture and self-portraiture.
I chose to do this project analogue as it’s my preferred way of working. During photographing myself it became clear the realtionship I have with my 35mm OM10 Olympus. As it’s been passed down from my grandfather to my dad and then my dad to me I thought it was important to use when exploring my identity through my self-portriture.
The camera is significant to me, therefore important ot the project, as it’s my first camera and using it is how I became to love photography.
As these images were taken on film, I also chose to process the final prints in the darkroom. Here I was influenced by my love for the Avant-Garde and experimented with the darkroom techniquesmy favourite photographers and artists did back in the early 19th century.
